It's interesting to have such a different mindset on goals this year compared to last. I had such strict ideas of what success looked like--shows and clinics for Mort, races for me, and marking things off my list for the property. So many things not going according to plan last year has made me reflect on what I actually value.
I still think it's important to set goals and be working toward something, but I value shows and races less than I have in the past as a "goal". I can still work-out and be fit without the stress of training for races. Mort and I can improve drastically without the landmark goals. And, more importantly, I can still feel really proud of us without that external approval.
